In Romania, publishing a book legally requires more than uploading a PDF. Every published title needs an ISBN from the National Library, must be registered at ORDA (Oficiul Român pentru Drepturile de Autor), and – if it's printed – needs depozit legal copies sent to designated libraries. Skip these and your book is technically illegal to sell. Most authors only discover this after launch.

Romanian law requires depositing copies of every printed publication at designated libraries (Biblioteca Națională, Biblioteca Academiei). We handle the paperwork, list of recipient libraries, and shipping coordination.
We advise on distribution paths: print-on-demand (Amazon KDP, Lulu), Romanian distributors (Libris, Cărturești, eMAG Books), direct sales, ebook platforms (Kindle, Apple Books, Google Play). Your audience determines the channels.
We read the manuscript and discuss your goals: print run size, target audience, distribution intent, budget. Decide on format (paperback, hardcover, ebook, all three), trim size, page count estimate. Define deliverables and timeline.
Build the master InDesign template: page master, paragraph styles, character styles, chapter openers, special pages (title, copyright, dedication, contents, acknowledgments). Apply to full manuscript. Review pass for orphans, widows, hyphenation issues, and visual rhythm.
Cover concepts (typically 2-3 directions), refinement, final cover with front, spine, back. Apply for ISBN at Biblioteca Națională in parallel – takes 1-3 weeks. Once ISBN issued, generate the EAN-13 barcode and integrate it into the back cover. Final cover ready for print.
Prepare the ORDA application: title, author, language, type (literary, scientific, technical), accompanying documents. Submit to Oficiul Român pentru Drepturile de Autor. Coordinate ORDA fee payment (you cover; we coordinate). Receive registration certificate – your legal copyright proof for Romania.
Coordinate with the printer (or print-on-demand setup if digital). After printing, handle depozit legal – we send copies to the libraries required by Romanian law. Then we hand off everything: print files, ebook formats (EPUB, MOBI), ISBN documentation, ORDA certificate, distribution checklist.
